2 year colleges have a unique challenge of creating a community and a brand where the population being served is generally very transitional, part time, non-traditional and commuter oriented with a large percentage of rotating adjunct faculty that make up the teaching staff. Also, sometimes competition with the nearby university's brand can overshadow the branding and marketing efforts of the 2 year college administration. 2 year colleges must still reach their constituents which are not as integrated into the campus life as with a traditional 4 year university and provide an effective and efficient communication model.
CampusCruiser solves these specific needs for the 2 year college:
- Commuter life: Many 2 yr college students and faculty are commuters from surrounding communities and don't stay on campus due to other life obligations that are more common for the 2 year college population. Many have full-time jobs or have families and have other obligations that don't allow them to be full time on campus. It is much more difficult to reach the commuter student population because there is not an inherent campus community for the college because people are simply not there.

- Transient Student Population: The percentage of transient students is high, but the need to remain part of the college community and need to be informed of campus resources, events, and receive academic and administrative information is still very important to the success of the student and the college. This feeling of belonging can be provided when the college adopts a sound communication model that instills the mission, resources, and support for the 2 year students.
- Non Traditional Programs: Non traditional programs common at 2 year colleges can suffer from lack of resources and even office space.
